Results of the first public consultation about libraries
Published on 01 July 2016
Thanks to all those who visited our stall at the Main Library last Saturday and Sunday. It was great to get so much input from the people who use our libraries the most.
We found that many families and children were extremely excited to get a new children's reading area full of comfy new chairs, bean bags, rugs and toys. A delivery of new books will be arriving closer to the date of opening, ready for all those hungry readers to get stuck into them.
The new Research Centre was another hot topic with many of our senior citizens keen to look up all sorts of family history information. A member of the Ancestry.com team will be on hand for the first few weeks after the opening to help out any new starters and get them on their way to creating their own family trees.
